http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj97/zool_85/Dll_icon.png Do you know that when your view any picture and files in your folder in thumbnail mode, windows will automatically create a file in that folder named Thumbnail.dll. This file will save your setting all the information about the size and quality for each thumbnail image in your folder. So, for those who like to view all your folder in thumbnail mode, possibility it will become a bit of a drain on your system. To increase the system performance, you must set the thumbnail size and quality by lowering it. It must be done on the registry and we will show you how:

First, open your Registry Editor by typing "regedit" (without quotes) at the Run ( Start --> Run) console.

Next, you must create two DWORD value :

- ThumbnailSize
- ThumbnailQuality

At this registry folder:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft \ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Explorer

To create a DWORD value, right-click and choose New --> DWORD value.

Rename the new DWORD into ThumbnailSize and set the hexadecimal value between 32 to 256

Repeat the above step to create the ThumbnailQuality DWORD value and set the hexadecimal value between 50 to 100

Restart your PC to see the effect.
