By dropping the "ATI" name, AMD had reveals two latest model for
second generation DX11 called AMD Radeon HD6850 & HD6870 which has
256-bit memory bus and 1GB GDDR5 RAM. Each model comes with different
clock speed which the HD6870 has a 900MHz clock speed and HD6850 has a
clock speed of 775MHz. For the HD6870, the maximum power consumption is
151W, 56 texture units and 1,120 stream processors, while for the
HD6850, the maximum power consumption is 127W, 48 texture units and 960
stream processors. For both graphics card, AMD promise that it will
support DirectX11 game including Rebellion's Aliens vs Predator and
Electronic Arts' Medal of Honor. |
For the outputs ports, both can support up to three display output per single
port which also include two DVI ports, HDMI 4.1a port and two mini-DP sockets in
line with the Displayport 1.2 specification. This cards already hit the US
market with starting price $179 for the HD6850 and $239 for the HD6870. Quite
cheap for high-end graphic cards!
